Lightbulb Kalyway 10.5.2 Guide for Msi p7n sli-fi motherboard

Well after months of trying and searching and asking for help Verdant helped me
throught it all and here is my guide thank's to him for you
guys.
First you need to set up your bios hpet(on) No Execute(on) turn
off firewire port.

Second boot your Kalyway 10.5.2 dvd the things i had
to pick for my install to work was sleep kernel nforce modbin kernels all
work vanilla did not work for me was stuck in a restart loop so pick on other
the kernel's list above as working. Next depending on your video card thats the
drivers you need to pick.
Lan drivers i selceted none and downloaded nforce.kext
found them on google. i had to select the jas sse2 patch tho i have the e7400
2.8gig intel. The hard coded applesmbios all depends on you ram speed. I had
to select the cpus=1 fix then all you have left is audo drivers left which
when i did the install it had some pre secleted i keep them and my sound worked
perfectly.

after the install is complete hoping it works if Mac os x is not reading your ram right or both cores on your cpu this is easy to fix thank's to Verdant here is what u need.

You need to boot into OS X (which works currently with only 1 core active) and run fassl's DSDT Patcher to generate a patched dsdt.aml file....

A Terminal window will open......press any key to continue.....when you see

CODE

Which OS to emulate? [0=Darwin,1=WinXP, 2=WinVista]

choose 0 to emulate Darwin......

The dsdt.aml file you generate will be placed in the DSDT_Patcher1.0.1e directory/folder and should be renamed to DSDT.aml and then copied to the /Extra directory that you will see after installing Chameleon 2.0RC1 using the Chameleon 2.0 RC1 installer......

There is no risk to your BIOS AFAIK because the Chameleon bootloader loads the modded DSDT.aml file in the boot directory i.e. / directory over the DSDT file loaded from the BIOS.....

I had to go in to the extray folder created by chameleon bootloader and the com.apple.Boot.plist open it with textmate and where you see thing like cpus=1 or cpu=1 I don’t remember which anyway look for that change the 1 to a 2 restart and it should read both cores if your running a dual core chip for quad cores I don’t know you have to play with it. Well now your Kalyway 10.5.2 Mac should be up and running.

Hope this guide was help full and all credit for this guide being possible goes to

if you get stuck

if you get stuck in a reboot loop then restart hit f8 boot with -s and type this out
/sbin/mount -uw / then passwd root (the password you want) then touch /var/db/.applesetupdone then type reboot and hope for the best
