Is it possible to install without EFI or is it required?
Skipping EFI during install may cause the problems i'm having with Darwin?
Yep, EFI is needed, without it i get no darwin and i can boot only from the dvd.
Zephyroth 10.5.2 is now working for me

Thank you guys!!!

I have downloaded the 10.5.2 files (all 73) and heard that they were problems with files 28 and 29, can anyone tell me if these issues were resolved? the install seem to be working except for sound, seem like the AppleAzilia.kext and the IOHAudioFamily.kext were not installed properly or corrupted. Do I need to get the other two (28/29) files? Oh and I am still having problems getting to boot properly.

Thanks !

these files (28+29) were just missing the first hours, now everything is fine
if unraring didnīt produce any errors, the iso should be ok.
problems with boot or install may still occur, of course.

check the wiki

Has this happened to anybody yet, I have a HP DV2415nr Laptop, 1.8 gig turion x2 processor, broadcom wireless, NVIDA Geforce GO 6150 Graphics. 150 gig SATA Hardrive, 80 gig Maxtor USB Harddrive (Leopard). Ok my question is I go through the installation, select custom, 9.2.0 kernel, MBR-EFI, Broadcom Drive. Deselect, languages and fonts. Installation goes fine till the very end at the point of "about a min", its a half a inch from finishing, but then everything stops. The installation bar, dvd, and harddrive. Mouse still moves but I can't do anything. Ok so I do a cold shutdown. And then restart, I boot from the USB Harddrive and the Bootloader comes up and starts to load up leopard, And it comes up and everything seems ok. My question is as in 10.5.1 by zeph it freezing at about a min to go was a known issue and the solution was to go back into the installer not changing anything and letting it install the missing files. I didn't do that in 10.5.2 since it loaded. Should I go back and do that? Thanks.

I can't boot the DVD
MD5 is right. Burn it on a DVD-RW. After loading mkext - restart.

Finally got the .iso via BT. Usenet didn't work for me. On my news server 7 of the parts had CRC errors and repairing them didn't work.

Anyway, I'm at work, but Zephy's new installer is a no-go on the 2 machines I've tried the new 10.5.2 for AMD. On both my laptop and on a 6100/405 AM2 machine here I can't even get to the installer. They both quit - booting off the DVD - with the famous "still waiting for root device" error.

I'll try my machine at home later, just for fun, but it looks like the original 10.5.1 + .kexts + 10.5.2 Update is what I'll have to stick with... Glad to hear it's working for others though!

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

That's what was happening to me - only I had a bad .iso - MD5 wasn't right (I didn't check the MD5 until AFTER I burned an install DVD and it "looped" like that on me - two different machines!) Now that I have the .iso from BT and verified the MD5, burned slowly with Nero, the DVD works to start boot up...

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

I've got the following problem: It installed about 1,5 hours and then suddenly my laptop powered off. After restarting OSX booted, but it stops at the grey screen with the apple logo. I installed using MBR-EFI and the new 9.2.0 Kernel. During installation I had the problem that it sometimes stopped and didn't go on until I hit a key or moved the mouse. The same problem now at the start: It shows me the apple screen and loads just when I press a key. I tried pressing a key for some minutes now, but it never went on booting. What's my mistake/problem?

My specs:
AMD Turion X2 SSE3
ATI Xpress 1100
ATI RS482M chipset
WDC WD1200BEVS IDE

It's a Amilo Pa1510. http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/home/produc...lo_pa_1510.html
