[cite] p-J:[/cite]The "AppleNForceATA: phy connection failed" 'error' is probably because there isn't anything plugged into a sata port, anyway, someone managed to fix the still waiting for root device error?

~p-J
Hmm, brand new SATA II hdd is plugged into SATA port and BIOS sees it. Maybe hdd have to be somehow preformatted or something too be seen by Zephyroth Leopard? I just don't understand. Why on earth hdd stops running... By the way, after trying once more I can be more precise, hdd stops running after this line: "firewire unable to determine security-mode. Defaulting to full-secure"

something weird I found also is: I have 2 hd´s. 200bg for M$ windows, and files, and a 20gb for osx - for now -. When I erased my osx partition and remaded it, it was ok. But, when I finished installed osx and had some problems in the video configs, I decided to re-install it, and when I get to disk utility again to re-format the 20gb, guess what? my M$ windows vista partition - named system so far - got the name changed for disk0s01 (something like that)... I guess it was made when the bootloader was installing...

anyway I had no time to test the windows boot yet, but, in some few hours - God I wanna go home right now, can´t take this job anymore - I´ll be testing it and sending my reports.

tchau!

edit: oh and by the way: it seems nforce 4 lan is working fine, and ac97 sound too. Just tell me what the amd utility does?

freshcuts, did you drag and drop the "alc880.txt" , onto the AppleHDAPatcher1.20 icon/application, or did you open the application itself?

your only supposed to drag and drop the alc880.txt over the app icon, then it will popup and run its script and show you the output, at the end it should say "successfully patched"

Ok guys. Please, Im begging now. Can someone please shed some light on whats going on with my system??
Ill try to explain best I can.
If I boot from the 10.5.2 DVD it hangs on "waiting for root device".
If i try 10.5.1 it boots the installer, but its VERY slow, takes 10 minutes to even recognise my hard drives and when I try to erase my partition I allocated for Leopard, it just doesnt do anything. Ive yet to actually install it and its driving me MENTAL!!!

Please PLEASE someone help!!

that's how I did it but it didnt work...
I tried installing 10.5.1 but I had a lot of probs and no sound after install.
Does that mean that my audio chip is doomed?
