I have a Asus A8N-SLI with the latest Bios update. The only option I can change in the bios is ACPI enabled/disabled and S1 or S3.
I tried every combination without success. BTW: I'm typing this from my iATKOS Leopard 10.5.1 with the AMD patch. Here everything works fine, and did the installation without any change from bios. But it feels a little slow, don't know why, maybe I'm just crazy. Thanks guys!! But - you're probably going to need to "screen shot" the entire text of the error, kernel panic, or whatever in order for someone to actually help. (And "A8N-SLI" doesn't really help us to do anything but try to find specs on that MB by ourselves... Do yourself a favor and supply as MUCH information as possible (down to the chipsets used) - you'll probably get much more information in return.) Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine... |

I'm getting the error (see Picture): Local APIC versions not 0x14 as expected ................ use only one style panic (cpu 0 caller 0x0042F4E3): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\"....................... But I can boot wit DVD! I see the 4 Partitions disk0s1, disk0s2, disk0s3 and disk0s4. When i select -disk0s3- the "Mac OS X86 - 10.4.9 - Tiger" Version starts and all work fine. When i select -disk0s4- the "Mac OS X86 - 10.5.2 AMD - Leopard" Version i get the failure (see below the Picture) From DVD i can start the "Mac OS X86 - 10.5.2 AMD - Leopard" Version! That's exactly the same error as mine! And I'm also booting the installation from a HD partition.
I'll try to burn a DVD and see what happens. this is the screenshot, sorry for the painfull quality it's taken with my cellphone. EDIT: you're right!!!! it passed that error, and then gave me another one, SAM Multimedia Error. I've checked and it's related to a bad DVD, so I'll try again, damned toast! I'm downloading the "Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI" from a torrent.
Could you tell me if the system will work on my notebook Acer Aspire 5520-5912. It has an AMD TL-58, GeForce 7000M, 2 GB (RAM) and a Toshiba hard drive (160 GB). 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean. Free credits ($100) for InfMac readers. |
