[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]Download the latest quicktime manually from quicktime.com and install. There shouldn't be any problems if you follow this way. If you use the software update utiltiy YOU WILL get the following message, QUicktime quitted unexpectadly, etc. =)
Ok WinLinMac01, I was just asking because it's listed into zephyroth's first message, and are you sure there's no need to use Marvin's utility?

EDIT: It's all working fine with quicktime 7.4.1, no need to use Marvin's tool.

[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]for your GUID problem, have you actually read the forums? There is a new update (patch) floating around that will address this problem. If you are not interested, consider MBR instead.

Yep that should be the one, that Zephyroth mentioned in his own topic. However, I do recommend confirming with Zephyroth first through the Whisper Box, because I am unsure whether or not eddie and zephyroth have their own releases. If not, it should be safe to use the .zip file. Make sure to patch it with your existing .iso using a ppf patch utlity. google that. =)

Yes WinLinMac01, I've downloaded the standalone from apple's site and everything seems fine for now.

good, you shouldn't expect any problems. the only problem that I am finding now is a bug that has to be addressed by apple. in safari, when signing out of my email account, the safari application quits unexpectedly and it hurts. =( if only I can send my bug report to apple, lol, but I forbid myself. =)

I got GUID working using this method:
Quote:
Remember: on a GUID install, Leopard is installed to partition 2, patition 1 is for the GUID. So, on a computer with one hardrive and one install, you want to use rdisk0s2.

1 - Insert the DVD.
2 - Press F8, then type "-s"
3- type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"
4 - type "dd if=./guid/boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY bs=512 count=1 (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)
5 - type "dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1
6 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8"
I hope that helps people getting the b0 or white cursor issues.

Specs=
Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200

The issues I am currently having with this install are:
1- I have to boot with -x. If I boot with any other option, the white Apple loads for 30 seconds or so, and then I see a garbled screen of lines and shapes.
2- LAN is extremely slow. Using Forcedeth or Skge, I never get over 10 kb/s down. On Windows or Linux it works fine and normal. I have a Marvell ethernet port and a Nforce one.
3- No QE/CI on 3870 with the 38X0 driver or HDXXXX driver. I can get QE/CI working by installing the Leopard graphics update and the latest Natit from Netkas.org.
4- No sound, I'm pretty sure my board uses the ALC850.

Any help with issues 1 and 2 would be great.
Again, I'd like to thank Zephyroth for the time he has invested into this release =).
