Here they talk about some RAM incompatibility (?) maybe that's all, and this guy changed the kernel, hope someone can give you more ideas.

OK soo far, a nice release.

Things that work: Allmost everything I need.

Things that dont work:

* keyboard layout recognizes all the keys except it changes key Y and Z (I have to type Y to actually type Z)
* SOUND - big problem because it doesnt work. I have A8V-MX motherboard with onboard ALC653 codec - realtek/via I guess.
* I see no SATA drives (not even in system preferences)
* Cant use 2nd monitor (LCD) on my Nvidia 6800 GT 256 MB AGP

Programs that dont work:
* MAINTENANCE needs 10.4.x to work apparently
* TOAST Titanium (nothing happens when I press it)
* Bookit
* Front Row
* HardwareGrowler
* Onyx
* CandyBar
* Sherlock
* Printer Setup Utility

Im sure there are more as I havent tried installing any apps on my computer.

The hardware issues are the most pestering as I hate using a computer where I cant watch movies and/or play music. :/

Right now Im just content/happy this distro is working at all.
And I will be even more happy if some of you have sucessfully solved these problems and are willing to share it with the rest of us.

First, thanks a lot Zephyroth for putting together this release

Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
RAM: 2 GB PC3200 RAM
Video Card: 512MB ATI 3870

I tried to install with GUID, but I would get b0 error. Then I installed MBR with: 9.2.0 Kernel, Forcedeth, ATI 38XX driver (17 MB one), AC97 and Azailia audio. I can only boot with -x. Anything else and it starts up for about 10 seconds, then just shows me a screen of random black, red, and green lines in a weird pattern. My 3870 does not work, and I am in software mode with no QE/CI. I am trying to get Natit from Netkas.org working. I have no sound, and the internet is very sluggish (like not getting past 10 kb/s, I don't know why). About this Mac and System Profiler are working fine.

If anyone could help me with these issues, that'd be great, if not I'll keep trying
Thanks again Zephyroth.

for your GUID problem, have you actually read the forums? There is a new update (patch) floating around that will address this problem. If you are not interested, consider MBR instead.

Download the latest quicktime manually from quicktime.com and install. There shouldn't be any problems if you follow this way. If you use the software update utiltiy YOU WILL get the following message, QUicktime quitted unexpectadly, etc. =)

Ok WinLinMac01, I was just asking because it's listed into zephyroth's first message, and are you sure there's no need to use Marvin's utility?

EDIT: It's all working fine with quicktime 7.4.1, no need to use Marvin's tool.

Yep that should be the one, that Zephyroth mentioned in his own topic. However, I do recommend confirming with Zephyroth first through the Whisper Box, because I am unsure whether or not eddie and zephyroth have their own releases. If not, it should be safe to use the .zip file. Make sure to patch it with your existing .iso using a ppf patch utlity. google that. =)

Yes WinLinMac01, I've downloaded the standalone from apple's site and everything seems fine for now.
