You can use the marvin´s utilty or make a folder in your desktop and copy the finder app from /system/library/coreservices/finder , and run the marvin utility, you need to know if it needs any patch

If it doesn´t works you can try to do again the eddie´s 10.5.2 update.

something is acting up in this system, if you read the new discussion I started, don't know if this is a serious problem or not. But seems very strange. In regards to system profiler shows different hardware overview this time. Is parallels or vmware fusion responsible for this?

I was able to get LAN working at normal speeds by disabling 1394 (firewire) in my BIOS. This may help anyone experiencing similiar issues.

system is working flawlessly now, after addressing the finder issue. It was all about a corrupted preference issue. Thus, I created a new account, saved the file on the other, and now everything runs smoothly the it should be.

I replaced my SATA DVD drive because the installer didnt seem to like it.
I seemed to fix that problem to create another,
I borrowed a DVD IDE drive from work and tried to install. If I used 10.5.2 and let it boot up, within seconds a screen comes up telling me to restart.
If I use -v -x, just seems to panic out and turns off my computer.
10.5.1 gets me into the installer to a point, but soon as i click next and accept, it comes up with a log I can choose to save, telling me again to restart.
Any solutions?

If you have tried numerous of times with the same DVD on different drives it can either be a), your DVD is corrupt (burn at lowest speeds instead), or b), your hardware specifications don't quite meet the requirements.

Try booting off from the DVD by using -v (verbose mode), and check to see if their are any errors popping up. Then let us know, and we can decide a better option for you.

If it is your hardware wait for the next release, matter of one-two days, and try then. Zephyroth said he included many improvements to hardware compatibility. Also, their are some surprises in store for us. Lets just wait and see. =)

Just as I thought I was actually getting somewhere, someone else comes out and bites me in the ass.
I downloaded Leo4All and tried that. This time things worked alot better, I managed (with much fiddling) to format my parition to HFS+ using windows and the installer recognised it. I customised my install and clicked install. HORRAY
Wait, NO!
Soon as I click install, it comes up with a box saying its checking the DVD for consistency or something. It takes a LONG time. 10 minutes to hit 2%. By this point I was really tired from the day so went for a snooze. I woke up an hour later and just had a large "install failed" logo on the screen. Saying it couldn't write to its destination or something.

whats going on?!?!
