It just panics and restarts when using -v? Try using the cpus=1 boot option.

I think i have a solution... Okay so when you boot the disk, you just click enter, nothing else or just wait. If it restarts, let it restart maximum 10 times. Yeah 10 times! It will want to boot, you'll see.

Or if it doesn't try :
-X (safemod) and -S (single user )

You could try opening the ISO on Windows (or whatever OS you are currently using) and replacing mach_kernel in the root of the disc image there from the Voodoo Kernel, or even better, AnV Kernel as it supports all 4 cores.

so in terminal you would do something like this...
Code:
cp /Path/to/kernel/mach_kernel /Volumes/iATKOS\ 5i\ disc\ image/
or (on Windows) open the ISO in something like powerISO and place mach_kernel in the disk image.

Try burning the ISO again and boot from the new kernel by typing "mach_kernel" at the boot prompt, (w/o quotes).

Hope this helps!

If the -v cpus=1 option isn't working then I would suggest trying a different distribution.

Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 (Retail)
Motherboard: MSI P6N Diamond
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
Video Card: MSI NX 6600 TD256E (CI QE Dual Displays)
Memory: Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX 4GB DDR2

So again, boot with -v and tell us on what message it stops. Did you check your chipset support under the installation ?
