try booting the DVD using safe mode ( -x ) so it doesn't need to use as many drivers to boot up. also, if that isn't enough use forced mode ( -f ) to force the loading of the Extensions folder instead of the mkext file.
if none of these works, we'll look up a little more info on your board.
EDIT... just looked up the info on your board. it is an nForce4 chipset which requires the nForce ATA kext. did you customize to include the nForce fix?
