I only get waiting for root device when booting w/cpus=1, has something to do with usb mouse I'm pretty sure... The issue here was more the unable to mount my other partitions holding Windows 7. So, I used GParted to start all over and am working on another distro now to see if it'll install before I restore from Time Machine. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers!
