the system (10.5.6 ipc) is very slow during disk activiry, like unarchiving a big file or more than 5 running torrents. for example, safari becomes unresponsive, even when entering and address in the address bar. i have 2 sata disks, all hfs+. i did not have the same problems with linux running on the same machine, so it must be something software. can anyone help? thanks.

The difference is that my chipset is ATI (RS480M and SB400).
You have to solve the problem?
