Did you install a kernel? If you didn't you should check Apple PS/2 fix. If you installed Voodoo kernel, install Voodoo PS/2 fix. Maybe install a USB fix as well.

The keyboard and mouse you bought probably uses Bluetooth. If your computer doesn't have Bluetooth and/or OS X doesn't support your Bluetooth hardware for whatever reason, the keyboard and mouse likely won't work as a result.
However, this doesn't explain the keyboard problem you're describing. Has it gone through the setup where you press the CTRL keys for it to identify your keyboard? Or can you not get past it?

Ali C - That where it gets stuck, it says press Ctrl so OSX can detect the keyboard, but it just stays on that screen, i left it all night but it still didnt do anything.

I ideally want to use the wireless keyboard and mouse but I can find a bluetooth later on

but at least the USB keyboard, shall i just google for the patch?

I had the same problem, and i just reinstall over the other installation but i added the Voodoo PS/2 patch.... Now everything works perfect...
NOTE: Don't forget to write down the patches you use.... you will need them in case something is not working with the installation!!!!!

Do I add the patch into the ISO before I burn to DVD?

The Voodoo PS/2 patch is already in the customize menu system - voodoo ps/2 driver of the (iATKOS) MACOSX installation disk... you just reinstall over the already installed OSX system.
In a couple of words you just have to start again the installation but don't erase anything just add the voodoo ps/2 patch...

I repeat NOTE: Don't forget to write down the patches you use.... you will need them in case something is not working with the installation!!!!!
