USB problems with 10.5.3/10.5.4

A8N-E
Opteron 180
8800GT

Leopard 10.5.2 works perfect (tried Leo4Allv3 and Zephyroth rev2), but if I upgrade to 10.5.3/4 there comes a strange problem with USB ports.

When I insert USB device into (any) USB port it wont appear on my drive list (Desktop/Finder/Disk Util).

But if I insert it before turning on my PC then all works with no problems.

Anyone have idea why latest Leopard updates breaks recognition of USB devices except when they are plugged-in before OS booting? How to solve this?

Do you have non-matching versions of mach_kernel and system.kext?

This can cause problems with usb devices not mounting.

Yes, it was the problem. Fixed it last night by updating system.kext.

Thanks for the reply :-)
