I would highly recommend LawlessPPC's distro with your Phenom.
MacBook Pro 15" | Mac OS X 10.6 • 2 GHz Intel Core Duo • 2 GB DDR2-667 • ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 128 MB • 100 GB Serial-ATA Hackintosh | Mac OS X 10.5.6 • 3 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ • MSI K9N AM2 • 2 GB DDR2-667 • NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB • ALC888 Audio • 300 GB Serial-ATA iPhone 3G • 8 GB |

I agree with Rogue. LawlessPPC's distro is the best for your CPU. He did a very thorough job with his distro before releasing it.

When I first started trying out OSx86, I purchased a USB-to-SATA adapter so my system could be installed to. After I had it running fine externally, I tried to find specific kexts that would enable me to use my SATA port internally. Search around a little more for your board model and let us know if you find anything. I'll keep my eyes open.

Or you can enable AHCI mode in WinXP... I think it's a simple registry edit (at least it is in Vista...)
Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine... |
