Broadcom BCM4329 (Linksys WMP300N) wireless not working

Hey guys,

Haven't been active in the OSx86 community for a while now, but recently my trusty Leopard install just broke down randomly and I was not able to fix it, so I went ahead and installed Snow Leopard. After some fiddling around I was able to get everything to work except for my wireless card.

The card is a Linksys WMP300N card with a Broadcom BCM4329 chipset. In Leopard I got this card to work easily by using the bcm43xx_enabler.sh script (which automatically patches AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext with the appropriate device IDs). The same script does not seem to work on Snow. I've also tried manually inserting the correct device IDs into the kext but that doesn't work either. Also tried booting with -f. Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Found the solution If anyone else is having an issue like this, where their wireless card worked in Leopard but not in Snow Leopard using the same steps, make sure your card is in PCI Slot 2. I had my card in slot 1 and it didn't work, moving it to slot 2 fixed it. That doesn't mean that your first slot is broken (mines works fine in Windows), its just that for reasons I don't know, Snow Leopard doesn't recognize cards installed in that slot.

hope this helps

But I like mine in Slot 3!
Seriously, though, good to know that wireless on this card can be had in Snow. It was one of my prime reasons for not taking the plunge yet, as I had my doubts it would.

Had the same problem with my card (WMP300N) after adding 4329 device id.

Moved it to a different PCI slot and all is good.

pcwiz, can you PM me the shell script? I'm considering a Snow install soon.

pcwiz.
I got linksys wmp300n v2 its atheros chipset if im not wrong.
I installed SL and create DSDT with Linksys in pci2 slot, i tried few things like:
Device ids PCI port change but nothing work.
Is there step/by/step guide?

Did your "change PCI slot" works with your linksys, after adding ID device r some kext modding?
