First Start-Up (after Install) - double-cpu-panic

Hi there,

every time OS 10.6.0 is starting, after a fresh install, it crashes immediately.

Maybe some of you might be able to decipher these messages, and
can point me to a solution?

Thanks!
davan

motherboard: K8N Master2-Far (dual opteron, nforce4)
ram: 2 gig
hd: ide (master)

Allright,

I've tried to load for setup (after install) from my most stable distro (hazard) with empire EFI, which ended with a 'blue screen crash' - this attempt must somehow broke my xp installation on another drive - windows crashed all the time, bios checked, cables - something must have been affected..

On another note: common displayed error messages while trying to get to 'Setup' (the whole install process works with most distro's) and booting with the -v option were:

Code:
- jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5
- Still waiting for root device
I would welcome any suggestion of further pinpointing to the cause of these problems.

more specs (from my system):
- nforce 4 pro chipset
- 2 x amd 246 opteron
- install HD is IDE

Thanks,
davan
