So has anyone gotten 10.7 installed?

I followed the instructions here: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/...-107-lion.html But when it comes to rebooting to the "Installer" partition you make, my computer reboots.

ok finally got around to installing Lion, good news is that it runs just fine with the name Extra folder from snow leopard and same dsdt. Bad news audio doesnt work out of the box. Have to edit legacy889hda or use the applehda.kext from snow leopard.

FYI.. use chameleon 755 boot loader

Code:
BIOS:E758_SZ2Z Motherboard:EVGA x58 132-BL-E758-A1 CPU:Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.0 GHz OS:Snow Leopard 10J567:x64 Vanilla Memory:24 GB G.skill DDR3 1333 MHz HDD:10 x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Graphics Card:EVGA Geforce GTX480 1536 mb Monitor:Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP Rev. A02 Audio: Onboard

Is using Chameleon 755 going to make a difference though? I got Chimera for all this, and it gets to the installer just fine, starts installing, and sometimes (either at 18 minutes remaining, 12 or 9) it'll freeze or reboot and just... ugh!

I can never ffffing reach the end of it.

Nice airwalk, appreciated. Has anyone figured out how to sleep this thing? I hate having to restart so much.

airwalk:
regarding the audio dsdt fix you posted, I get the following error when I try to convert back to asl:
Quote:
Object does not exist ^ (DTGP)
Was the DTGP section already in your dsdt file or did you add that in? I don't have a DTGP method in my file.

yes you need to add code for DTGP you can find the complete document at this link here

download the file "How_to_patch_DSDT_with_LAN_and_HDEF_functions_inc luding_LegacyHDA.zip"

follow the steps in that doc but you have to use the code from my post for codec id and layout ID. everything else is the same.

For our board codec and layout ID:

"codec-id",
Buffer (0x04)
{
0x89, 0x08, 0xEC, 0x10
},

"layout-id",
/**** Is ResourceTemplate, but EndTag not at buffer end ****/ Buffer (0x04)
{
0x79, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00
},

and use the appleHDA in my post reboot and your should be good to go.

BTW I didnt do the LAN Part of the patch you can try if you want.

Thanks bud, I will give that a try, although I do prefer using the 64-bit kernel. Let me know if you find a sleep solution and I will do the same.
