Updated : It works now. Made second attempt and bum, everything ok :)

About the updates - you`re free to update anything, so you can update all your apps with Software Update. Just dont update your system with it...

Try another, newer distro. iPC 10.5.6 for example, or new Leo4All, iDeneb. They`re up to date and have a lot more hardware supported - it would be the easiest way to try.

Yepp, just like that. Boot with -s, mount drive, remove kexts with rm, copy backep up kexts with cp command, repair permissions and ownership, and use reboot command. Should work again.
