what did it for me was:
chameleon2 rc3 bootloader
dsdt patch for usb...

if there was an error "hpet not found" have u tried enabling hpet in bios?
if hpet not found in bios, try following:
boot with "ForceHPET=Yes"
if still no luck, add nullcpupowermanagement......

actually ive never had to do that using the retail dvd installer method as mentioned on the guide... even for installing on usb drives...
ive only had to do that after using the "osintall.mpgk"...
