Unfortunately, I'd made a near-fatal mistake when I installed the update with Pacifist. I unselected one too many things, causing OS X to gawk and hang up instead of boot (curse you, BootCache!). Not...

I have a hunch.
Note that everyone who has this working without BIOS checksum problems is using a Gigabyte board (sans one Asus). And notice how everyone with problems has an Asus (again, sans the...

I didn't expect it to work either, but sure enough, at the correct time, surprise, surprise, it booted itself.
Perhaps something in the EFI emulation sets up the "turn on at set time" in the BIOS?...

This update's probably a piece of cake for Intel Hacks.
And fair enough Hara. ;)
And AMD Software Update tripped on it, so I'm going to have to download the Vanilla version and manually patch it....

Congrats on escaping Windows. It's harder to achieve when you have problems (in my case the hard drive was terrible slow and QE/CI was hopeless), but once they're ironed out, who neds Windows except...

Looks too easy. I'm downloading it now but I'll wait until my new hard drive comes in and clone my install, because like clockwork, the first time I install this OS update, it'll brick, no matter how...

Just looked at mine and I'm suspicious.
How the hell does it fit 58GB of VM into a 40GB hard drive!? My other 200GB drive only has 10GB of space left, so it can't well be shoving it there.
