try booting with "-v", it toogles verbose mode, showing log/terminal output while stystem start.
this should give you a clue where the problem is

(depending in mobo, but most got this option, at f8 in my case)

on "dualbooting", read the wiki´s and search for easybcd...

i know, but both wikis share mostly the same content (info i entered in zephs was copied to eddies) but
with minor differences. i dont mind sharing info but this is not very efficient having it...

in 10.5.2 R2 the installation of guid bootloader is broken, you have to install first without the bootloader and add it later by hand (check the wikis).

i guess easybcd only works with vista installed because a sole xp installation boots
old style with boot.ini, ntldr etc. here you have to edit the ini. search wiki for dualboot
and chain0.

i had osx running alongside xp/vista on one disk.
at first i installed it on an external usb disk (for easy testing)
and moved the partition later on the internal disk/partition.
to get it booting...
