Try to find in Mac, or in Windows, vendor and device id of your sound chip. Probably its an ALC one...

It can NOT be done cause P3 processors do not support required SSE2 instructions. They are only SSE capable. So you'll need at least P4/equivalent celeron or AMD, SSE2 capable at least.

Have you tried to install any of newer linux distros on that laptop, like ubuntu? Telling you that cause it would tell you at booting process if there is a BIOS bug at your laptop....

There is no real need to do that buddy. Only reason i could see is not being satisfied with your GMA950. Even if thats the reason it's a nice card for a laptop, supported in OS-X, QE/CI enabled....

Why don't you use AMD patcher utility? I remember thats what i used to patch 10.5.3 before using ASU. Make a patching list, boot into single user mode and patch it from there.

Probably that partion with osx installed was not set active, cause you could have logged into osx just by selecting hdd boot order from your bios.
You can boot with your leopard dvd to fix that....
