DVD Drive
My DVD drive keeps opening on it's own lately. Completely at random, all on it's own. No eject HUD pops up on the screen either. When it opens, I have to manually close it by hand, as the eject key on my Apple keyboard wont close it. Only then will the key work again after I manually close the drive.
Is there any explanation for this or a way to fix it? I have no idea what could have caused it. I checked the internals, the cables, everything checks out fine. This also doesn't occur under Ubuntu. update bump
Looks like the issue is resolved. I had set in power preferences to turn off the hard drives when not in use. I'm guessing that the AppleVIA driver isn't very good at telling the system that something isn't exactly a hard drive, so since both my DVD and HDD's are on the same storage driver, when the HDD's get turned off, the drive opens up. Turned off that option and so far, no action with the drive tray.
