Cannot play DVD's in SATA drive (nforce chipset)
Hi
I have a samsung IDE & SATA drive of the same model. The IDE reads everything but the SATA drive only seems to read cd's but nothing else, it recognizes DVD's as blanks. Anyone have an idea on how to resolve or possibly an updated kext? Im using the iPC 10.5.6 distro with the 9.5.0 vanilla kernel.

I fixed it...
I installed the AppleNforce kext from my zephyroth 10.5.4 DVD even though it was the same version (1.0.3) and rebooted, afterwards I can now watch DVD's on both drives. I have not tried burning or anything else but at this point im pretty sure it will work fine.
BTW, i may have just needed to re-apply my kext through kext helper or using single user to chown the kext or what ever.
