Need help enabling QE/GL on XFX Geforce 6800GT 256mb
I searched the forum and the internet but have been unable to find a fix for this problem.
I used this wonderful guide to install the retail DVD. http://www.infinitemac.com/f19/guide...utorial-t3187/ After a ton of trouble and and several reinstalls I got my card to let me change resolutions by updating to 10.5.8 and using "nvinject 0.1.3 VRAMtotalsize." However, I cannot enable Quartz extreme or Open GL. The machine is usable but ideally I wanted the Open GL acceleration for Photoshop cs4. I tried enabling QE/GL using osx86 tools utility, but it had no effect. Also in the system profiler it seems to have the wrong info about my VRAM size. GeForce 6800 Series: Chipset Model: GeForce 6800 Series Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 768 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x00f9 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.1.3 Displays: L194WT: Resolution: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported QuartzGL: Supported Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected I have found these forums extremely helpful during this build and I hope someone can give me a little more specific insight for this. Thanks. |

Well I resolved my problem. I switched out the 6800GT for my gaming rig's 8800GT, and followed this tutorial: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...howtopic=91755
Now I have a flawless OSX install. But I suppose I will have to upgrade my gaming rig's graphics card now, darn lol. Thanks again for all the useful information on this forum. |
