if its GUID my bet is its rdisk0s2, as the 1st partition is the GUID table.

OK rdisk0s1 is dedicated to GUID partition table.
The first usable partition to install Leopard (with GUID) is rdisk0s2 (so this is your partition).

Retry and type rdisk0s2 instead of rdisk0s1

Mac OS X 10.6.3 • 2.8 GHz Intel Core I7 860 • ASUS P7P55D • 2 GB 2 Ghz DDR3 • ATI RADEON XFX 4890 1GB • 2 x Hitachi 160 GB Serial-ATA • PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112 • LaCie Desktop Harddrive 750 GB USB

First, all thanks to zephyroth for giving us amd users a chance.

Okay, just got finished reading through all twenty bloody six pages, and am downloading off of my at&t usenet account at a steady 134 kb on my slow dsl connection (should be done in 8 1/2 hours). I am wondering if that problem of a few rars not being complete is over with, and also I am downloading 10 files which are named differently than the other 73 files. Check here- http://www.binsearch.info/?b=Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI&g=alt.binaries.mac.cd-images&p=zephyroth-osx86%40hotmail.fr&max=250 to see what I am talking about. Can someone explain this to me? Are those top ten files rars?

Also I read on a few pages before that this release includes the latest medevil kexts. My history is that I tried to install tubgirl months ago, but it couldn't get past the "creating partition map" when trying to format. Same problem with zephyroth 10.5.1. I installed the latest medevil kexts on that 10.5.1 disc, but got the "waiting for root device" error (so I am really hoping these kexts will work this time around). I am wondering if the problem of not being able to format my drive can be fixed with the latest medevil kext that is included in this release, or is my problem deeper than that? Anyone else ever heard of the problem of not formatting? After all my searching, I only met one guy at insanelymac with this problem.

Specs-
HP Pavilion a6230n PC
Asus M2N68-LA Motherboard (nforce 430)
3GB DDR2 SDRAM
Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE Graphics
Hitachi 400GB SATA

I removed my other Sata DATA Drive so now I have one, So wont go all dumb and get confused. I reformated the drive, yes again, as a single GUID Partition. It is installing now. I hope I get Lucky and it don`t hang at the end.

even if it hangs at the end, boot back up with the DVD and you can finish setting up EFI yourself.

[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]For GUID do this:

How to: Fix the GUID bootloader (Blinking cursor)
There's an issue with the script that installs the GUID bootloader.

Easy to fix :

1 - Boot with the DVD.
2 - Press F8, then type "-s"
3- type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"
4 - type "dd if=./guid/boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY bs=512 count=1 (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)
5 - type "dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1
6 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8"
