Interview with EFI-X Co-creator
Dutch Hackintosh community Muzzle.nl has posted an interview with Davide Rutigliano co-creator of EFI-X.
The interview does not give too much away about the product, but it touches on its legality and what the future holds for the controversial little device.
Here's an excerpt: John: Some people from the hackintosh community said that the efi-x module is the same as the boot-132 procedure, what's your point of view?
Davide: *censored* cough cough :P
Well, all I know is that if I said that to our development team, who has been sleeping really little lately, the company would need a new CEO as the old one would disappear in mysterious circumstances :-)
John: That's clear enough
Davide: Jokes apart, we implement real EFI in our device. there is nothing that links our product to the hack world.
Legal part:
John: Let's address the legal part of this device, you probably saw that coming
What's your point of view on the legal part? Is the device completely legal?
Davide: Yes, it is. We made sure to create a product that goes in the same direction of all other computer company and not against them in any way.
John: Did you investigate if Apple could / would go to court to stop this device? Knowing you can install OSX with this device on a PC.
Davide: It is possible that we will go to court with Apple, but most likely *supporting* them, in case we ever find out that someone is selling PCs with our module installed. Selling a computer that can boot OSX is a unique right that only Apple has. And we enforce it.
John: Did you hear anything from Apple about EFI-X? Did they contact you?
Davide: For sure they don't hate us, that is saying enough To read the rest of the interview head on over to Muzzle.nl
