I installed iPC 10.5.6 on my Gateway MX8738 laptop Core Duo GMA950 using an external usb hdd. My main system is iATKOS v5i updated to 10.5.6 vanilla. I checked video, Intel SATA, Powermanagement pkg, clamshell, AppleSMBIOS Anv MacBook Pro, PS/2 keyboard fix, and everything went fine with a post install of sound patch, trackpadpane, and kext for side scroll. The big change that I noticed with this system is that itunes new smart playlist DOES NOT crash itunes. This worked with both itunes 7 and again with 8 after I did all software updates. Has anyone else noticed this problem "fixed" with iPC Leopard? Nice DVD!!!!

MS-7376 (MSI K9a2 Platinum) and IPC 10.5.6
Hello!
I've been trying to install OSx86 for weeks now on a MS-7376 based clone with an AMD quad Phenom proc with minimul success. I'm able to boot to the DvD and complete the install with no problems but get the dreaded "waiting for root device" error when trying to boot from the HD after install. I have used the -f flag after each install completes. I've scoured the net and several message boards and have found that the likely culprit is the chipset on the board. It's the SB600/790FX chipset. As I said, I'm able to install without issue (have done so 100's of times trying various options) and even use the DvD as a boot disc to log into OSx. Once in, I'm able to access my Windows filesystem which is located on a seperate SATA drive. My IPC install is located on an IDE drive set as Primary Master btw. When I boot from the disc and into the OS (rd=disk0s2) I don't have any network drivers, sound or video. My question is basically this. How could I install the same SATA drivers that the iso uses? it appears to load the motherboard drivers without any problems. Thank you for any advice you can offer! What options?
What options would you recommend with
E8400 - this is overclocked to 3.4gHz 8Gb DDR2 Motherboard Gigabyte P45 DS3 Graphics MSI NVidia 9500 GT (can swap with a 8500 GT if needed from another machine) SATA AHCI 3xHD (2x750Gb and 1x160Gb) 1xSATA DVD drive 1xIDE DVD drive (can change to SATA if needed) Should I remove unsupported cards - VStream video capture card? Tried iDeneb and iAtkos on the above without success but got Leo4All to work on the AMD machine my children use. Also which method is best for dual boot with Vista 64bit? Thanks |

i have the P5Q and i must say its an excellent board and iPC is working alright on it..just the audio is not working with the provided kext which is strange (@ ~pcwiz i tried a fresh install with the kext provided on the dvd but it didnt worked) i had to install an AzaliaAudio.kext that is working for me (would be glad to provide it for the final build) still no info about the onboard audio in the system configuration window though. The Atheros network onboard chip has no working kext for it, it would be great to have it but you can solve this with a realtek 8139 card which works by default i osx

It's a nice image, the installation options are looking very good. Sadly the image isn't working for me, although I used both patches. My board components are suppoeted 100% since 10.4.6.
The graphics screen is totally distorted at the beginning, the lower half part is black with white blocks and stripes in it. When I change the X1600 kexts with patched ones (Natit/ATIInject removed) it works, but I still have the problem that Quicktime 7.5.5 is so slow, even the intro video stutters horribly. It is possible to generate an EFI string or something for the X1600Pro (ID 0x71c2) ? The card is not slow, the xbench reults are very good. Another problem is that the image only sets the first partition bootable. I have my test partition as partition 2, it isn't booting after installation. I presume this problem is on all images since the Chameleon bootloader is used. Why aren't the PS/2 drivers installed automatically? I think a lot of people are using PS/2. The AppleNforceATA driver from slashack with 4 GB support should be on disk, it works great. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination.
