Some question for newbie?
Hi people,
I'am having an AMD 1620 single core with 2 gb ddr2 ram,160 gb sata hd and gforce 6150 on board. The chipset is NVIDIA GeForce 6150 / nForce 430 http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/...t.php?S_ID=315 I want to start developping applications for IPHONE. "In order to develop IPHONE Application you must have installed Leopard OSX." "And iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1" http://developer.apple.com/iphone/ "Registered iPhone Developers can download iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1 which includes the Xcode IDE, iPhone simulator, and a suite of additional tools for developing applications for iPhone and iPod touch." How can I build my PC for Leopard and Iphone SDK for IPhone OS 2.2.1? Any experience? It tells that cpu must be an Intel, but I have AMD. Does Iphone OS2.2.1 may run on AMD? Or to buy other pc with intel cpu inside? Any help is really appreciated. Thank you for your reading. |

Hm, if I take a look at the board specs it could work. I don't know if the onboard gfx is supported, but there are drivers for nVidia 6150. PM me for a link.
I would recommend an IDE DVD-Drives for OS X, but at least DVD should be IDE. Many people had problems using SATA-DVD-Drives. 2 Opteron systems: OSx86 10.5.8, Andy's 9.8.0 kernel, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Opteron 185 o'clocked @ 2 x 2,95 GHz (2nd system 2.6 GHz), ATI Radeon HD2600XT 256MB Dual-Monitor 2x HP L2035, 4 GB RAM, Griffin FireWave as main audio device, Marvell + nForce LAN, Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA6 card, 5,5 TB harddisk, Firewire 800 card, Apple Remote + eHome IR receiver, 2x Wacom serial graphics tablet, Canon Pixma iP4700, Logitech Internet Navigator wireless keyboard/mouse combination. Oh thank you.
It hasn't passed more than a couple of hours I've got 2 replies. Thank you so much. But as apsolute begginer in installing leopard osx on pc,can you give me some starting point how to start? some links what to do first, second etc. No need for too much description, just some links. And one question more: I want to install after I finish installing with Leopard Mac osx" iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1" Can somebody goes to this link : http://developer.apple.com/iphone/ They say there"Registered iPhone Developers can download iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1 which includes the Xcode IDE, iPhone simulator, and a suite of additional tools for developing applications for iPhone and iPod touch." Does somebody who is running Leopard OSx on AMD platform can download "" iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1" and to start it? I just need to see if it works? Because they say I need to have an INTEL cpu that in this case I think is not necessary. Any results? If you can Install"" iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2.1"on AMD based machine with Leopard OSx please speak to me. I'm experied web developper and I want to switch towards Iphone developement, but I need somebody to help me with spoken above. I have not funds to buy real MAC with Leopard,as I intend to start develop IPhone games and selling them through apple.com website in very nearest future. Have some really good ideas about making good and profitable Iphone video games,I have also a long background as a website designer and website developper and I want to enter into this area, but also I don't want to pay a $2000 for new Mac. |

Suggestions: Pick your AMD distro first, Lawless, iPC, any will work just great. Download it from 'where the wild roses grow ;-) ' and make sure you have nice and stable system with everything properly installed and fully working. Don't worry about iPhone SDK as it will work great just like any other application. Kind regards. ![]() |

Hvala. I'll post my results about Leopard OSX and Iphone SDK here in next couple of days. I'm going to work by instructions above right now. I'm so happy that Leopard OSX can be run on amd platform. You saved me $$$$. Lovely. |

Yes it does work. I`m developing for iPhone for some time now on my AMD machine - it works just like it should. And dont worry about the Intel requirement. With Voodoo kernel, your system "thinks" you have Intel CPU, so you dont have to worry about this anymore.
