Going crazy

Hey man, this is an awesome guide that you laid out for the fellow X58 platinum users.
I'm only having one issue. The damn EFI string for my graphics card... i have an Nvidia GTX 275 (896MB VRAM) Dual DVI. I seriously can't figure out how to inject the hex code into com.apple.Boot.plist. if thats even where it goes. I saw on OSx86 wiki that the video card is supported, so i decided to give the hackintosh a try. I got as far as the screen when u select install OSX then the apple logo shows up and then the screen loads and goes Effing BLANK!!! .. ; ; Help me plz lol

MSI x58 Platinum SLI Snow Leo

Exactly thats what I was thinking to have as a fail-safe. Once I had my running install I would "dd" it to another partition.

I was also wondering -since I just got this mobo recently- How does it run at 3.6 Ghz? Is it stable? Any suggestions for a newbie OCer? I don't really want to push it. Do you usually have it fully OCed or do you switch according to how you use it?

Again, Thanks for the tips,

Happily Maccin' away =^)

I fully OC it to 3.6, stable, and its fast, at 34 degrees C.

I enabled power management and the "Core boost" or whatever it called so it can lower the CPU speed and increase it at will. Runs great, no issues.

I still can't get OSX installed. D:

Hey mate, I've read through your guide, and all the following comments, but try as I might, just can't get OSX to install. I've downloaded iPC, and followed your instructions as closely as I could, but it still didn't work. I can't seem to find that APIC (ACIP?) fix you mentioned anywhere. I've also tried XxX_X86, iDeneb v1.3, iDeneb v1.6 lite, and some varios Boot 132 methods; but alas, nothing. Think you could lend a hand?

The Apic/ACPI fix is in the "Fixes" or something part of the install DVD of iPC. It is located next to the Seatbelt.kext fix needed for the VooDoo kernel.

I think you didn't repair permissions.
