we have the same specs and booting works fine for me, but mind you that i used the USB install method and i have the NUllCPUManager loading during boot time...i think that you have KP`s because there is no presence of the mentioned kext, which is required (i think) for the first boot, also try and boot the instalation with -x -v or better yet try one of the distros available like snowosx...

cheers

http://www.kexts.com/view/16-nullcpu...64-bit%29.html (64bit version)

It is NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, sorry for making a mistake with the name, and no, i dont mind, thats what infinitemac is here for: help eachother After i made the USB bootable, i restored the snowosx iso onto the usb for faster install Also try and install it this way for full OSX experience, i am trying to say that the distros may boot better but this notebook is fully capable of native vanilla instalation,

cheers

Hi,
I've followed this youtube guide to make a snow leopard install usb disk. Then use the install script that mentioned at the thread's first page. Mind that you can install snow leo only on a guid scheme partition. I've deleted my whole HDD yesterday But this method works for me too. Some parts of my notebook doesn't works yet, but I don't give up. Thanks for everyone!

Keyboard, shutdown and sleep problem

Hi Guys,

I am very happy that I've succeeded to install the snow leopard to my K50IN. Just an interesting notice: At the end of the install, the installer told me that the process is failed, however after the reboot the snow leo booted up without any complains.

Only few things I couldn't fix, yet. The keyboard and the touchpad is dead, the shutdown and the sleep doesn't work.

The keyboard worked after the 10.6.2 update, but when I fixed the audio it came unusable. I've tried a couple of ApplePS2Controllers, but none of them worked.

Please advise me a kext for the PS2 and the shutdown/sleep issue.

Thanks a lot!

Adam

Itt van az én extra folderem: home.ebbolbajlesz.com/Extra.zip
A sleep ugyan nem tökéletes (ébredés után nincs hang), de a billentyűzet jó.
