Leo4All 10.5.5 has trouble finding M-audio USB device, Sometimes it's there, sometim

I'm running Leo4All 10.5.5 AMD version and I'm having trouble getting my USB-based M-Audio Mobile Pre to show up in the Sound preferences. Sometimes it does, but I have no idea what makes it do that. Is there something USB-specific I have to configure? I'm pretty new to this hackintosh thing in general so any advice would be helpful.
