my friend is planning to get Hacked! but his laptop is a K40ij

an intel t4400 2.2ghz, 2gb ram with intel 4500M internal video [not nvidia].

will our [K50in] boot cd work on this?

Your dsdt is work well. but still slow, too.
and did't show me menu bar. After a few second, The display crashed gradually.
You Know, I'm nVidia MCP79.

The devices ,not working, is PS2Keyboard, touchpad, graphic and Wlan.
WLan is Atheros, also I installed IO80211~~~.kext

If you have MCP79, then it MUST work flawlessly. Delete all kexts that you put yoursef (besides of wlan kext that I posted a few posts before) and use my whole s/l/e + Extra folder (DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING INSIDE OF THEM) + use Kext Utility. What's more - don't put any flags at boot. (-v, -f etc.)

So I use terminal console in Mac OS install DVD.
I copied your kext in /e/e and /s/l/e
Run chown and chmod for permition setting

Must I do anything else?

The problem is that It is not dsdt.aml but DSDT.aml xP

Another problem is Kernel panic.
the display is showing me this.

just use evoreboot.kexte E/E and no S/E/E :) , repair an extension with kext's utility and reboot.

I have downloaded the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail and iBoot. I did install the retail osx but after restart the system is freezing. The wolcome video is already freezing, too. The system was started but everything is too slow. Bios is fresh. I can't install your kexts. Why is freezing it?

It has been good. I did waiting after every click about 1-5 minutes but worth it. I did install the retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3 by iBoot (Supported version). After install it was rebooted. The Welcome video was freezing and has sound was distorted but the os was started. I did install the 10.6.4 update, chameleon and copy your kexts. After running kext utility and restart everything is Ok. I did found your kexts difficult, because not working some link. Thanks!

You must haven't put all my files...

Just to be sure everything will work, here you can download my WHOLE S/L/E directory. Simply delete your old one and put mine, then replace extra (whole extra folder) one more time, delete hpetdevice (since it's not needed, trust me) and nullcpu(...) [but you shouldn't have these after using my s/l/e and new extra from the bottom of this post]. Then use kext utility and restart. Everything but wifi should work now (look a few posts up to get working kext for this).

PS About Nvidia - if you use my extra folder - then you have a correct info in dsdt file, so that it must work.

After using Mac OS X for some days on my K50IN it will freeze. It will only display the message: "Loaded HFS+ File "/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist" when booting. After installation, Mac OS X will boot and I install Chameleon RC4 (AsereBLN 1.1.9) and the kexts from man_of_the_oak.

Some days later (mostly after sleeping, but I can't remember), the screen freezes and when I reboot I see only: "Loaded HFS+ File "/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist". After reinstalling Mac OS X it will work again for some days (but all my files are deleted), and I need to install Chameleon and all the kexts over and over again.

Is there any solution for this problem? Plz help me!

after an hour of playing around with 10.6.5, i discovered that we have to have a different FakeSMC for 10.6.5. I patched it together from different sources for our laptop (thanks to ProjectOSX) and its working OK. (first post of the thread updated.) Also i had to change the name of the laptop from MacBookPro4,1 to MacBookPro5,1 in SMBIOS.plist for the speedstep to work ;) Vanilla AppleHDA does the job well for the audio part. I would say go on and update your hackbooks :D

Download the combo update from apple, and just install it. :) Copy the new FakeSMC.kext to E/E and AppleHDA to S/L/E and use kext utiliy to rebuild the caches. Reboot. Hopefully you will have a brand new spankling 10.6.5.

@yuanlukito: Sleep works, but the sound is lost after coming back from sleep, also not too sure about the restart/reboot either. I think we need a patched audio kext for that, i will look around my disk :)
@ninoger: I changed a kext inside plugins that is newer and should support intel thermal reading along with everything else, havent tested it though, will do when i have more free time ;)

Try DSDT by Rus for K50IN which I have attached. It fixes that problem. Also the system works without HpetDevice.Kext, HDAEnabler.kext with this DSDT.

Rus has made 2 options:
1 - DSDT fix for dvd, hpet and sound - With this you must remove HpetDevice.Kext, HDAEnabler.kext
2 - DSDT fix for dvd, hpet and audio + video - With this you must remove HpetDevice.Kext, HDAEnabler.kext and turn off graphic enabler in the Chameleon.

Hello...i have successfully enabled audio on my Asus K70IO notebook, ALC662 audio codec via DSDT. I have no sound assertions errors, all is working perfect.But i have one issue that i dont know how to fix.

if i boot into 64-bit mode...audio is working, but after 30seconds when i dont play music every 5seconds i hear click from speakers, so i think when after 30seconds user dont play any audio applehdacontroller goes to sleep and then checks ever 5seconds if is any music active and get click every 5 seconds. how to fix that? any clue or idea?

If i boot into 32-bit mode all is working perfect without click issue..so i want to use 64-bit mode...where to start begin to search?

i have snow leopard 10.6.5 retail. using dsdt patch for HDAC and HDEF injection and AsusK50IN legacy kext.

P.S: nobody is posting here...is this forum dead?

Hi, guys! Thanks to you all I've managed to install the Mac OS X 10.6.3 iAtkos S3.v2 distro to my Asus K50IN laptop. Here's the problem - I've got everything working except the sound and the trackpad. I've tried to fix the sound problem, but I got kernel panic - I've added the Asusk50in.kext and HDAenabler.kext in /Extra/Extensions folder and replaced the AppleHDA.kext in /System/Library/Extensions and it F@#%ed up. What am I doing wrong? I'm relatively new to hackintosh, tried a million times with my desktop and didn't got it working right! Now I'm few steps away from the perfect Hackintosh and I really need your help!

it says, FakeSMC could not be found, i had tried to put it through windows but still can't make it.

only Asus K50IN boot cv V2 will boot to chameleon, v1/1.1/iboot, do not load maybe im burning them to the disk incorrectly i dont think i am though, the boot cd V2 will load to chameleon press f5 and all that, it gets to loading darwin gets stuck a little bit but keeps going then when it is supposed to start loading the graphic interface, the screen goes all solid colour and flashing ocasionally changing colour much like a disco. and thats it.

i have updated my bios and even tried changing the com.boot.apple.plist thing in the boot V2 cd, which (before i had altered it) worked into chameleon every time, but now when i try and change something like altering the plist file adding or taking away a kext (i tried to get it working by changing the graphics enabler, swapping out the nvenabler for nvenabler64) it doesnt boot into chameleon at all!!. ive pretty much tried everything i can, over and over again, and i cant seem to be able to boot from usb either but i still have burnable cd's so i dont care. what in hell am i doing wrong??

from reading this forum it should be working perfectly! and im normally quite good with computers

I need help, I have a notebook ASUS Intel K50 IN color duo, nvidia GeForce G102M.
At that already searched the forum there are those who have this graphics card running at 100%.
I installed this notbook S3 iAtkos 10.6.3. funcionase could never get well.
I upgraded to 10.6.6 with the 10.6.5 kernel. 64b running in this
everything is going well, I lack an addition to the graphics card.
By Kext nitit that could have graphics acceleration.
But I identify with the same 256mb to 512mb.
Also installed the NVEnabler 64.kext. Utility and run the Kext is just 512mb to identify correctly, the problem is that when Renicio the system, I get the apple on the screen and can not enter the system but this shows me not only hasten the desktop or table.

ok i seem to be missing something could someone please right down precisely (i have tried to follow the forums instructions) about how to install retail 10.6.3. using Man of the Oaks extra and s/l/e files, and IO80211Family.kext.

PS does it matter that i cant boot into that partition, i have to use iboot... starting up the computer leads to 'no operating system found' or just the flashing underscore. if it is a problem is there a way of changing the bootable partition, bios changes it i think? or something like that, or perhaps is that the problem at all? should i just delete the windows partition and figure out how to dual boot a different way?

Eventually having trialled and errored for a very long time, i now have a very almost working hackbook. minus perfect sound (only a small clicking noise) webcam is upsidedown, and now sleep.

in my efforts to try and create a dual booter, ive left 100gb free as fat32 so i can figure out how to install windows later.

list of how i did it
boot with iboot
insert mac osx 10.6.3 and boot with -x
install
install chameleon
run kext (dont input password)
update to 10.6.4
put S/L/E and E/E from Man_Of_the_Oak's 'backup file'
i changed dsdt.aml to DSDT.aml just to be safe not that it might make a difference
add IO80211family kext
add nullcpumanagment kext
restart
update to 10.6.5 replacing with fakesmc from flip360 into S/L/E and reinserting nullcpu and apple hda from MOTO
kext utility and repair permissions
restart, same thing with 10.6.6


so i have a working hackbook, and i have a spare 100gb partition in fat32! fun fun
but i want that to be windows so if anyone can give me a hand? I want to install windows 7 into that partition, then make mac the default boot partition, so i am able to use the bootloader in chameleon to access windows 7 if i so please. so how do i change the active partition when ive installed windows? should i have done it the ther way round and install windows first?

although ive managed to get this far through trial and error now that ive got it working i would prefer some expertice on the matter of partitions and installing windows!

I've been running 10.6.2 on my Asus K60IN since October of 2009. Back then we had the retail disc and a series of kext's to get everything running. I was just wondering if I can update directly from 10.6.2 to 10.6.6 without many issues. From what I've read, all I really need to do is backup my AppleHDA kext and reinstall it after the update. Lastly, should I download the update from the update manager in OSX?

Okay, updated, restarted and it failed to boot.

1. First error message was the sound issue, no worries, booted into safe mode and installed appleHDA.kext

2. Still doesn't boot. Looked at it again with -v and it looks like it hangs just after NVEnabler runs. Boot into single user mode, and remove NVEnabler 64.kext from S/L/E

3. System now boots to desktop, but only 1024x768 resolution. If I change GraphicsEnabler to yes in com.apple.boot.plist, system still hangs.

4. Tried man_of_the_oak's extra's and extensions...boot screen is correct 1366x768 but hangs at: "acpi_smc_platformplugin::registerlpcdriver-failed to locate smc driver"

No idea what to try now....any ideas?

I first tried the Boot CD with a retail 10.6.3 disc, this failed to boot, and ended with a KP. I Believe it had to do with the graphics enabler, though I can't be sure. Safe mode did the same thing.

Graphics appear to be working alright, although there is some issues with QE/CI as when dropping a widget on the dashboard it would stutter and give artifacts every now and then. Webcam also did not work, nor did WIFI, but I am running a different card, and didn't expect it anyways.

So after I got it to boot, I downloaded the 10.6.6 combo update, and installed it, rebooted, and am stuck where I was before. I'm thinking I should have installed the FakeSMC from 10.5.6 after installing the update but before restarting. I'll try that another night though.

Anyone have any ideas on how to boot the 10.6.3 retail disc without iBoot, or how to use iBoot but re-enable stuff like the webcam? I have an original 10.6 disc as well, but if I remember correctly, I had to disable GraphicsEnabler to get that to boot as well.

webcam will only work with an asus driver so no go there.

So i've researched about the possibilities of installing it and found out that it's a bit hard, specially for beginners like me. I've been posting on other forums, asking people for some tips. Then i became busy with my work and already get over with it.. Then lately my interests came back and now i've decided to try it again.

No the guide is the same, just use the 10.6.6 combo package from Apple for update after install.

i dont have K40IN i have the K50IN but with the config you provided i saw that its the same hw so it should work theoreticaly :)

original SL iso image or dmg, and the kexts and stuff from the first page of this thread, USB stick 8GB :)

no problem man i am checking in almost every day :)
i would suggest if backing up your data and go the GUID partition way, much more compatible than MBR. The MBR way of installing gives too much errors afterwards,

first of all thank you for this great forum it is awesome and everything works very nicely...

although i have two things that i would like to fix, but i have no idea how to do that.

1. sound
sound is working, except the clicking noise every 5 seconds, it is a little bit annoying.
arround page 35 there was a solution but i don't know if it works because only one user said it did work...

2. keyboard
does anyone know if there is a fix or simekind of driver that i could install so i could use my asus keyboard as a mac keyboard... that would mean that i could use volume shortcuts in specific if i plug in a mac keyboard via USB it works perfectly, and i would like the same thing on my laptop alone...

please help me with these issues if not anything else please at least tell me there is no solution, so i can stop searching the web... :)

I made a instalation and after that i updated to version 10.6.7. I have a problem with sleep like other people, its ok i can wait for good sleepenabler kext. But i have some weird problem too. Often my keyboard on my laptop dont work. Trackpad too. But sometimes work keyboard and trackpad dont. Today i followed instruction for update my bios and i done that sucesfully.

All day long i searching some answers for my problem with keyboard but i find only few links withou specific answer.

You have little to combine. Sometimes kext file better work in the System/Libary/Extensions.

Most OSX86 Distros have Chameleon Boot Loader integrated to select your OS at the start. But I encourage a clean install following the instructions from this forum (Just search for the thread in the main section). Anyway, Chameleon is in charge of the OS selection and you can and MUST install it :) So don't worry about the boot.

The K50IN is very compatible with OSX86, in fact when you get to install everything it works almost the same or maybe better than a real macbook of the same specs :) For the sound you can use the kext from The_Man_Of_Oak in the first pages. As for the suspend function I haven't been able to get it work but most users have reported that in fact, it works so you just need to try :)

Its true.. I put ApplePS2Controller (from a good Man Of The Oak) in system/ library extension/. Guess what? My problem with keyboard, external mouse and trackpad is solved. On my K50IN :)
I have one more problem, wheni shutdown my laptop, the screen went black, but the hard disk still running. I think that I will solve it with "Overboot" kext.

I Have successfully pathed DSDT folowing pathes:

HPET, RTC, TIMR, CPU & LPCB (for speedstepping), and VGA.

When i dont have VGA injection Shutdown works, but when i inject via DSDT shutdown and restart is broken.

My Sleep is working Out Of Box, no need patching.

Could some one see my DSDT and tell me where i need to put DSDT Shutdown/Restart fix?

if you make the USB Installer on another Mac then yes but i am afraid that OSX is a must. As for Win7 if you re-install it you just have to re-enable the OSX partition to boot Chameleon from. ;)

No, i im saying that Shutdown works if you dont use GraphicsEnabler, DSDT VGA injection, or VGA kext injextion.

I would tell that when we use Graphics injection (DSDT, kext or GraphicsEnabler) we kill Shutdown that calls PTS(Arg0) So we need fix. I have traying modify calls in PTS today but without result.

I could not find any kext that works to fix my shutdown/restart problem, do you have one? If you have please give me a link to download and study what calls i need to put in dsdt patch.

Or if you know any DSDT expert to ask(like BugHalter or what is the name of man that fix our sound alc662 problem on apple.ru)

i tried OpenHaltRestart and EvoReboot but no success, only reboot no shutdown. I will try and post to the russian forums and ask there for a fix. I think something changed in Lion`s power management because the same setup worked in 10.5 and 10.6. Maybe the newer versions of Chameleon has to do with it?

I im using AsereBootloader end when booting i see that in booter has ReestartFix implement....

All the fixes for gigabyte boards and asus (desktop full atx) are on forums via DSDT patch, but that very important is that this board is using INTEL chipset, we on our laptops have NVIDIA MCP79 chipset, and i see when SBRG (South BRidGe) is called who Shutdown computer is that intel chipset has different address for SBRG.

Our frends in applelife.ru can solve this problem, i know that russian guys are experts for this dsdt patching...so please post this problem in their forum and poste here results.

Yes, no problem. Here is link to download my DSDT that has shutdown fix (just search for _PTS and copy to your _PTS into DSDT.

This dsdt is from my K70IO and is same as K50 but its better to copy only fix.

By me is currently working sleep and shutdown, restart is not working...so i need to fix only PTS method where it says If (LEqual (Arg0, 0x03)) that means when Restart is pressed on Apple menu go to execute code.

You have say that by you Restart is working, could you please upload your DSDT on which restart is working to investigate code and copy to my DSDT.

This shutdown modification in DSDT will shutdown very fast, and will not kill any of features on Mac OS X.Now is shutdown vanilla...:))) Yupiii

I found where you have mismised code, try this and your shutdown will work

First i downloaded your DSDT and you have correctly applied the code to the _PTS except one thing, you dont have in your DSDT Device(LPCB) so code in _PTS does dont know where S5CT is located....

Solution is to find Device(SBRG) and rename it to Device(LPCB), and shutdown will work...trust me.

And dont to forget to repleace all references SBRG to LPCB, if you will not you will get a lots of errors when compiling...

If you could not make modification, please write here and i will modify it as descipted above.

I found that your reset code into dsdt is quite different, and can you tell me are you using some kext or not when your restart is working?

And dont forget to remove all kext for shutdown, restart and sleep (like sleepenablerm evorebot, etc).

I will try to modify my dsdt as you suggested, and for restart i am using EVOReboot or OpenHaltRestart, without it it doesnt want to restart...hmmmz. No sleepenabler or such. Can you try to merge the two somehow or take the best of both worlds?

I im now reasearching alots of dsdt (Gigabyte, Asus, Asrock) and i im studdying DSDT what function i need to call to reboot, for now i see that it has sense that PSS method what is dumped from linux to have speedstepping working is needed to put in S3 state which is called Restart.

Can you post link to russian forum? I have google chrome installed and now i can translate russian language to english..:)

I have just placed Evoreboot.kext and reboot is working...now i will try to study that kext and make patch to DSDT.

Please upload your dsdt that you have modified for shutdown fix and then i will make it see and fix it to work.

And put into Extra folder in com.apple.boot plist system-type 2 which means that you are running laptop...not a desk PC.

Thanks...but i see in ioregistry that evoreboot creates own instance and comunicate with mach kernel...so dsdt dumping when this kext is loaded will not touch dsdt...so no go.

I see that we from _PTS call Shutdown & Sleep (0x05) & (0x04), what works, but we call before Sleep(0x04) another function called PTS which is responsable for Restart (0x03).

So we need to google some restart dsdt fixed and post links here to compare this dsdt and then we can make restart fix.

Function that we search in dsdt.dsl is PTS and must have if (LEqual 0x03) which is call to Restart funcion.

dunno about that, i installed mine with the usb method but not liking 10.7 sofar :( You can try and burn it on a dvd and also the bootcd from the first page doesnt work with lion yet, use something simmiliar from insanelymac. Its strange that the battery is either unknown or in service, after replacing the 10.6.8 appleacpiplatform battery is ok but i dont have any info in system profiler about power which it worked properly in 10.6.7 and 10.6.8, any clue?

Hello...i have successfully enabled audio on my Asus K70IO notebook, ALC662 audio codec via DSDT. I have no sound assertions errors, all is working perfect.But i have one issue that i dont know how to fix.

if i boot into 64-bit mode...audio is working, but after 30seconds when i dont play music every 5seconds i hear click from speakers, so i think when after 30seconds user dont play any audio applehdacontroller goes to sleep and then checks ever 5seconds if is any music active and get click every 5 seconds. how to fix that? any clue or idea?

If i boot into 32-bit mode all is working perfect without click issue..so i want to use 64-bit mode...where to start begin to search?

i have snow leopard 10.6.5 retail. using dsdt patch for HDAC and HDEF injection and AsusK50IN legacy kext.

P.S: nobody is posting here...is this forum dead?

We need some tweaks for sound, restart, sleep and reboot.

Recently, I decided to install Mac OS X on my laptop again and this time I am going to create a detailed tutorial + I will create my own LegacyHDA kext for ALC662, what may fix some known problems with clicking etc. but from what I know this may be caused by power management settings for AppleHDAController...

Look people I re-read this topic a thousand time and I was very confused.
I have an ASUS K 50 IN Nividia chipset MCP79.

I can not get sleep to work.
If I disable the trackpad note and use a USB external mouse Confucianism my sleep but if I have the trackpad afuncionar note, when returning from sleep is frozen.
I use ApllePs2controller kext for the keyboard and mouse mas break only works if I exclude the mouse kext apllePs2 plugins apllePs2Controller the kext.
Please help me I'm desperate.
Idit dsdt I use but do not know if there is something more to do.
If I solve this problem I would be very happy.

Hehe, I don't need renovar's DSDT since mine is completely perfect, all the fixes I mentioned are "discovered" by me, so of course my clean DSDT has them + he has a bit other type of laptop + he added HPET, RTC etc. fixes while they aren't needed (why? look at my info regarding DSDT) + my shutdown works OOTB with my DSDT (no fixes needed). Tyvm mate! Im waiting for some type of guide about year.. Read all about installing on my favorit russian applelife(cuz its my language, but seems its outdated totally, and too long responses), and with some type of success installed and used sl for about one year..

But its not clear for me, what kexts i actually need to use, whats wrong in my DSDT file and all of other things i made while using SL.

And i have clicking sound thats driving me crazy.. No problem with shutdown, but restart hangs, not actually problem because i can use shutdown function for restart =) Plz while you working on complete guide, provide us you sond fix if this posible.

Hope you can understand whats the problem with 10.6.8 (still sitting on 10.6.7), and hope this solve problem on Lion, cuz no real useful mail app on OS X, want to use mail5.

I will share everything in my upcoming tutorial, guys ^^ + NEVER, EVER use someone's DSDT, I've got much more knowledge than last time I've worked with Hackintoshes and trust me, you may even destroy your hardware while using someone's DSDT. Always create your own and simply fix it.

IMHO tutorial on applelife.ru is a piece of shit. Especially information about DSDT and kexts in their Extra.zip attached to the post o.O WTF?

Anyway, to all Lion lovers, I am going to create LegacyHDA for this one, it will work with 10.6.8 too, of course.
