My 3rd working install is on a 690G/SB600 chipset MB.

I'll finish this a little later - it can be done but it does take a different install method...

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

Try to visit "Cant see my hdd..." topic. I`ve got the same problem with SB600, and got some nice replies - try them

The easiest way to get it running (other than to wait for Zephyroth 2...) is with an external hard drive and another computer.

I've been running an x2 6000+ with an 690g/sb600 on 10.4.9 smooth as for ages now. SataII was an issue. I set or disabled AHCI (I think, from memory) in BIOS and had to use a jumper on the drive to half the speed. worked but not very stable so I just got a USB enclosure!

As for 10.5.2 i've installed now but it's not as stable as I'd like (as 10.4.9).

cgsheen: You say you used a different method? What method would that be? I've used 9.1.0 kernel with via chipset drivers from Zeph's 10.5.2 Rev1(i think)

My Hackintosh:
Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/Amd -- Speedstep, Netkas Smbios, AMD test patch 2.
Mobo: MSI K9AGM2
Chipset: AMD 690v ATISB600 -- SB600ATA kexts
CPU: 3Ghz AMD Athlon 64x2 6000+
Ram: 2gb Rambo DDRii 667
Graphics: Nvidea MSI nx8600GT 512MB -- NvInject 512 (fully supported 100% working)
Audio~External: Focusrite Saffire -- (100% working - ootb)
Ethernet: 8101E -- Realtek R1000 (100% working)
HDD: 320GB WD SataII (150gb Boot Partition)
150gb Lacie Firewire/USB RIP my dear Lacie.

Right. I'm running Zephyroth 10.5.1 on that computer. I couldn't get 10.5.1 to install directly due to the chipset issue. I installed 10.5.1 to a USB HD using a different computer. Once the install was complete, I installed a .kext for the SB600 (it was called "SB200_400_600" or something like that (I have a poor memory and I'm at work - sorry - but I think it's listed with the rest of my specs in the "Hardware" thread - should be the 3rd working install)).

Then I connected the external drive to the 690G/SB600 machine and booted from it. It actually booted into the OS and I was able to load installers or .kexts for the 8600GT video and ALC889a audio. Runs quite well on that machine. Eventually I copied that install off of the USB drive and onto an IDE HD which I installed internally.

All that because I didn't want to learn how to inject the SB600 .kext into the Zephy 10.5.1 DVD... Like I said, I still haven't tried 10.5.2 on that computer though.

Running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 on my stinking AMD/ATi machine...

installed leo4all v3 with external usb drive... installation went thru successfully in 20 minutes... bootet in ahci mode...

encountered following problems:

01. hd2600pro was not recognized... installing netkas radeonHD package fixed that... ah one kext was missing and needed to be edited with the right device id: atiradeonx2000.kext . kext helper made it easy

02. ata devices were not found... in my case dvd writer.... sb600 package fixed the problem...

03. no onboard sound... got realtek... alcinject didnt seem to work... azalia package fixed the problem...

so thank you to the whole community for this beautiful work... i got a completly nice working leo system now... just need to sell my pci soundcard... driver of this one doesnt work... gonna get me a firewall solution...
