Empire EFI - Help?
Hey mates,
I downloaded both Empire EFI versions for AMD-Users. Soon, I have finished downloading retail Mac OS X 10.6.2. Then I think, I will have to boot the Empire EFI and follow the steps (is it easy?). Then I have to insert the Retail SnowLeopard disc, when I am asked to. Questions: - Is that right? - How do I have to install my drivers? (as they are not integrated into the retail-dvd, I think ![]() - Do I have to know more? Thank you so much... |

Well just follow the direction on screen, First insert the Empire EFi CD the wait for the backround, It should then say "Eject this CD and Insert your Snow leopard DVD and press F5 and wait a bit". Then press F5 after inserting the DVD and select "Mac OS X Install DVD" and it should boot then go and install normally and finish then when it restarts Insert the Empire EFI CD again this time using the arrow keys to select the drive you just installed Snow Leopard on, after you make an account and whatnot open the Empire EFI CD again and click on "MyHack Installer" and go through the process of installing the software then reboot. you will have to find your own kext files that work with your hardware. on the net like www.kexts.com The CD even has icons to click on to help get .kext files.

I booted from the Empire EFI - CD. Then I did everything as mentioned. But when I want to boot from Mac 10.6.2 retail DVD, I am getting "still waiting for root device".
What to do? ![]() Thanks a lot! |

Incompatible chipset error, I would download SnowOSX Universal 3.6 then, AMD systems most of the time need a prepatched install anyways. The EMPIRE EFI CD only has experimental AMD support. And make sure the SnowOSX Universal is AMD and that is is version 3.6.
You may have to find the chipset kext and inject it into the DVD image aswell but its worth a try to go ahead and attempt an install with the prepatched DVD. 00010 00010 RETIRED |

Try this: http://www.infinitemac.com/f7/empire...h-sb600-t4987/
For using SATA devices only you should also be able to turn it's mode to AHCI in the BIOS settings... AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

mhh, doesn't work - still waiting for root device. Maybe because that is for SB600 and my board has got SB700?
