10.5.8 or 10.6??

hello im a newbie here,this is my first post and im a new hackintosher.
i never use mac before after i installing hackintosh in my rig. thats completely installed succesfully without standby mode

this is my rig
AMD Phenom X3 8650
Gigabyte MA780G DS3H AMD 780G SB700
6GB RAM DDR2 800 Mhz
Maxtor 250 GB 7200rpm AHCI Mode
dual boot Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 from XXX PC Universal disc using voodoo 9.5 and Vista 64 bit using chameleon 1

i just want to ask something, would you prefer to upgrade to 10.5.8 or snow leopard?

To make you're system more secure/compatible with software it's most of the times best to update to the latest version.
So if possible you should check if you can make Snow Leopard 10.6.1 work on you're system.
Or at least try to update to 10.5.8 which is the latest Leopard update.
I see from youre system specs that you're using voodoo's 9.5.0 kernel?
You should try to update the kernel to for example qoopz 9.8.0 or Andy's kernel.

i consider to use voodoo kernel 9.8 but i doubt my rig are going unstable. i don't know how to update it, i had installed 10.5.7 before and my rig always restart even in AHCI mode and also cannot using -x in boot prompt. so i'm back to 10.5.6 again.

sorry,how to know what are kext in my rig?is that in SLE?im just installing openhaltrestart and nvinject after OSX installation.

You need to back-up your Kernel Binary - located in /mach_kernel to ensure your system will still work after doing the update, as you need a) a Kernel that doesn't check for your CPU & b) the Voodoo Kernel to patch the CPUIDs to make OS X work on AMD.
Also you should take a Back-up of system.kext & seatbelt.kext and reapply them, if you want to continue using your old Kernel version.

No Snow Leopard Retail installation, using a Boot CD, is not possible on AMD.
We are missing a 10.x Kernel that provides the CPUID patching feature, as the Voodoo Kernel did for Leopard...

What you can do is to install Snow Leopard from within Leopard to second Partition, apply a patched Kernel & do the opcode patching using Marvin's AMD Utility. See the Snow Leopard pre-boot forum - you'll find further instructions there.

it means i need new harddrive in my rig for SL installation,right?i cant upgrade it from 10.5.6 to SL. i know some basic problem from aryajuanda when i met him off air,he said if AMD Proc doesnt support running 64 bit in SL and he said, marvin AMD only support in tiger not leo.

marvins amd utility run for me in leopard and snow.
64 bit isn't working for a majority of amd users. i imagine someone got it working somewhere, though you would want to wait awhile. 32 runs perfectly fine, so you might just wanna focus on getting 32 bit working before you even think of 64
you could add an additional partition to your drive instead of buying a new hd. I have 4 partitions in mbr, 2 for osx
of course buying a new harddrive only for osx and partitioning it in guid would in some ways be easier.
