Basically you need to plug in a USB mouse and keyboard before boot, They should work reguardless if you have a proper USB kext installed thats what I did when testing a Vanilla install of Leopard using the Boot 132 method on my L305, and that worked just fine, then once you install proper PS2 and USB kexts with the external keyboard , then you can use the built in ones just fine. You just have to make sure you plug the USB keyboard and mouse in BEFORE you boot, or you can try a prepatched version of OSx86 that has your USB kext and PS2 kext pre-loaded to install.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have already tried plugging in a usb mouse and keyboard prior to boot. They stop responding as soon as I reach the installation screen.

I have already tried several prepatched distros. Most of them just reboot prior to reaching the installation screen. I have not had any any luck modifying/patching iBoot or Empire EFI.

Once again, thank you for responding to my question. Do you have any other suggestions?

I'm confused, is there a solution to the usb/bios issues on my computer or is it simply impossible to install OSX on my computer?

There is a way , it works fine with slices USB 2.0 patch in leopard, but a new patch has been made for SnowLeopard 10.6.4 by the author of iBoot Tonymacs.

I'm afraid I don't follow. I have already tried installing Snow Leopard using the latest version of iBoot.

His utility is separate from iBoot, although it is included only when you boot from the iBoot CD your USB 2.0 should work when you boot your computer with the iBoot CD, if you find the MKEXT Unpacker Utility you can go into the "Preboot.dmg" image on that CD and extract the USB kext file from there and use "Kext Utility" to install it. Then you should have working USB 2.0.

But when I boot from the iBoot CD the built-in trackpad, built-in keyboard, and all the USB ports stop working. I can't even use USB 1.1. I can't install OSX or do anything on the boot cd because I have no method of input once I reach the installation screen.
