Try to boot one of those prepatched DVDs by using cpus=1 bootflag.
AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

Well I would give an attempt to two different ones, first one that's using the Voodoo XNU Kernel for DVD boot - any up-to-date distro would fit this like iPC OSx86 Universall PPF5, iAtkos v7 or latest iDeneb - if you can't boot one out of those with the cpus=1 flag either I would give a try to "iATKOS v4a 10.5.4 AMD" as it's using the ToH Kernel to boot.
Ofcourse you can try to boot your Snowy Retail DVD using EmpireEFI AMD CD too, but my personnel opinion is that it's easier to stay with Leopard on AMD if you are able to use the Voodoo Kernel. Good luck. ![]() AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

Try to install this kext using KextHelper b7 :
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1727104/Rade...D10.5.kext.zip If you're a lucky fellow, it will make you able to change your screens resolutions in operating and to the ones that fit for your screen. What this will not do, is to enable CI or QE, as it's not a accelator solution - there isn't such for your card. Hi Imkantus
Thanks for the reply but i was not that lucky im thinking of changing my motherboard and cpu, i noticed you have the same mother board i was looking at, does the built in graphics chip work or would i need to get a graphics card? also how stable is it from what i read it seems to be very stable. Thanks again.... |

So the FrameBuffer driver hasn't been working for you?
Quote:
It has no onboard gfx. I would get some 8- or 9-series GeForce they work like charm just with adding an EFI Hex String to the bootloader configuration. ![]() But I can confirm that it's stable on use and I got it even working allmost perfectly with OS X. ![]() AMD Phenom II X4 955 - ASRock AM3A770DE - 8GB DDR3-1333 - Radeon HD 5570 1GB passiv - BCM4318 802.11b/g - Snow Leopard Retail

Well the only working onboard gfx, coming to my mind on the spur of the moment, would be the GMA950.
So getting some cheap GeForce is a good decission I think. Maybe you should read this: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/EFI To add such an EFI String like mentioned in the second sentence, you can use graphical frontentds like EFI Studio or OSx86 Tools, so that it should not be a big deal... ![]() 💡 Deploy cloud instances seamlessly on DigitalOcean.
