Source code? We asked for it, you give it. That's the license of it. ;) Not trying to be mean but there is a lot of people who want to mess with it. Thank you.

You wouldn't like to see yourself in bad light, wouldn't you? So don't make the same mistake as some other people did.

So do us a favor and release them :) Violating the license is very rude.

instead asking "does my amd work with this kernel" try it and you can find out yourself faster.

i removed my hdd installed from a intel hackintosh or real mac, overwrite copy/paste mach_kernel to root, put the hdd back in your amd cpu and ready to rock.
good luck

Okay, I installed iAtkos L2 to an external drive using a Core i5 Laptop, and replaced the kernel. However, when i boot with -v -legacy i get stuck at PCI Configuration Begin...so i booted with -v -legacy npci=0x2000. Now it would boot a little farther, however it gets stuck at this:

Now Lion boots and runs as expected, but, the system, after a while, starts to run slowly.

Yes, It's very sad if he doesn't do so, as APSL says:

The license does, however, require that if any derivatives from the original source are released externally, that the source be made available.

Also the development of it would be a lot faster if he did release it. ;) I'm almost bleeding for the source code. :( (and making a diff isn't so hard, either)

Well I am into this since the early days of Leopard and this wasn't not usual in the beginning.
The source code of the ToH Kernel patch was made public end of May 2008.
More than half a year after the beginning of it's development.

It has proved that this had been the right decission.
If the source would not have been released back then, the development of the Voodoo Kernel would have never been achieved and AMD OSx86 would be already dead for a long time now...

But still I do understand him.
If I would have put a lot of work in to a Kernel patch, I would not want some tonymac like asshole to relabel it without giving any credits either.

Nevertheless I hope my argumentation will be heared... :)

and so did he ...

Good to hear someone has it.
My FX-4100 is on it's way and my Phenom II just been put for sale on eBay. :D

I am pretty sure to get it fully working.

Would be to bad if some nasty Kernel depencies would end this with the release of some future system update...

Any help is appreciated :) or do I need to download 10.7.3 iso somewhere? (I burned my 10.7.0 App Store download to disc last year.)

(Also, can I install Lion to a partition by double clicking OSInstall.mpkg?)

I don't have a intel machine so I need a way to install it. :) I guess Xmove with 10.7.3 iso would work? Unless the kernel doesnt work with a 10.7.3 based installer either.. :(

I think if you've got a GUID partition use boothfs -32, or if you have MBR patched drive install use boot0 32.

With Snow Leopard on AMD or Mac Machine.

How?Since one cannot boot with the installer. Any steps?

Do I use my 10.7.0 install media or do I download it elsewhere?

I've heard that you can install on another partition from using the Lion Install WITHIN Snow Leopard, so you don't need to boot the Installer. Also look at this: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/xmove-multibeast-install-os-x-107-lion.html

Yeah, I know XMove, but it fails.

I would love to know how do I install Lion within Snow Leopard, as the OSInstall.mpkg method doesn't work. It says there is no software found to be installed.

I'll try using CCC to clone the Snow Leopard installation to a GUID partitioned drive. Maybe XMove works then.

(Also, 1024x768 is starting to hurt my eyes, 3 weeks with no QE/CI is fun :P)

Have you treid forcing your resolution?

Replace the bolded with your native resolution. It won't fix QE/CI but will have native resolution.

Anyways, back on topic, xmove worked on my GUID formatted partition, but the installer doesn't really want to start. all I have is a console, where I can write stuff but it doesn't load anything. And with -legacy I get a kernel panic.

Will try with 10.7.3 iso if it has some more use.

I'm already using those settings (GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 and -legacy), and keeps happening :/

Also using the Natit/VBIOS/Nvidia rom gives me the same result.

Looks like I will need to wait for a boot cd/distro/kernel improvements in order to make it work correctly.

I will try again with iAtkos L2, with the distro kexts (Not my extra/extensions kexts, as I did with the 8Gb partition), since 10.7.3 retail doesn't let you to install from Snow Leopard.

Yep, because is not possible to install 10.7.3 retail/updater over Snow Leopard to the lion partition, but with iAtkos is possible.

Also, I've installed the 10.7.3 update and the nvidia drivers, booting without the graphicsenabler, and is still happening.

I will try to remove some nvidia kexts that are not belonging to my vga model

PD: Looks like Snow Leopard is making some kernel/kext caches in the Lion partition.

Try to top one if you still get force reboot, I get force reboot on the bottom one, and the closest I've been is with the top one (zip file).

Also on this page it mentions use UserKernelCache=No isn't it UseKernelCache=No
It says AM3 for the bottom which matches mine, but I've gotten far closer to booting it with the AM2 kernel. I just get the dreaded FakeSMC, but it did work once somehow. These are my boot flags.

Yes I have seen that one too, gonna try that.:):):):)

if your stuck at "dsmos has arrived" pretty much means it booted fine but your graphics aren't loading

I'm using nvenabler64.kext in sys/lib/ext/ and works perfect on AMD 9650 x4 phenom

GraphicsEnabler=Yes was not working and would hang dsmos so i removed it

That's correct, but you need an Intel machine in order to install it. Then you just put in the kernel and it works. At least for me. :)

-Graphics Enabler

-Disabler
-Ev0reBoot
-IOPCIFamily
-AHCI SATA

from my other mac lion, I installed 10.7.3 and installed EliottForceLegacyRTC, IOUSBFamily Rollback, and PS/2... using multi beast
edited my kernel flags (above post)
and after that I deleted AppleIntelCPUManager.kext (also the client) and AppleTyMCEDriver.kext.
booted -s (booted like this since I got stuck and mouse and keyboard won't function)
mount -uw /
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
reboot
(came to the login, but I didn't login since I don't know user and pass)
booted into -s (again)
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
reboot and this is how I got it to work, also I had another mac to help me install some other things

Did you try it personally? I doubt it works. ;) I wouldn't trust a random noname releaser (which cannot even use punctuation when writing). And I bet he didn't fix the kernel himself it it did, but I don't think there is such parameter in the kernel as "Kernel Cache". Only UseKernelCache, which doesn't work with the kernel (as it doesn't create an extensions.mkext).

Edit: Yup, no such feature exists.

:) dumb as a rock ! is all i get in my mind

Tried on VirtualBox and it boots.

Just tried with real hardware, instant reboot:(

Tried on VirtualBox and it worked (except finder).

Just tried with real hardware, instant reboot:(

It's because VirtualBox emulates a Intel chipset (ICH).

Ontopic, I'm still looking for the Lion DP2 Finder, I'm not downloading DP2 for it!

Did you realize a way to get it working? I'm on Amd Turion 64 x2

Turions have always been problematic.Their architecture is a bit different from others.

Have you tried cpus=1? If that doesn't work then the kernel doesn't have support for your CPU Family/Model.

I think that model is not supported at the moment. :-/

Which bootloader do you use? The latest version?

Hey Everyone!

I've been trying also but I always get a kernel panic during boot:

"Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@\Users/nawcom/Builds/xnu-1504.9.26/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1393"

Any ideas?

I'm using Chameleon from Niresh's dvd

I haven't touched it and my system runs fine, maybe there is something wrong in the disc and it's software instead? ;)

Personally I have seen 2 ways for making a successful install:

- Using the retail discs on a real Mac/Intel hackintosh and swapping the hdd after install
- Using iAtkos L2 (Install by running OSInstall.mpkg on Snow Leo)

I can confirm both of those work. Not personally tried iAtkos, but my mate did. I don't really trust Niresh's dvd since I don't think he has a special kernel. On some people it does indeed boot but gets stuck on root device.

I can confirm that DP2 Finder works, but it won't on startup for some reason it causes a hang before the desktop. Moving it before boot and placing it in /System/Library/CoreServices after boot works.

Got the Finder app! Have not tested yet, but I have found my DP2 lion and does have the setting to run in 32bit mode:):) Please test and check if it does work by replacing finder in System/Library/CoreServices

OK guys i have been into nireshes install and i can confirm that "Kernel Cache"=\amd is very smart cause it autodetects your model and takes the right Kernel. But of course booting hangs after loading boot device :/ and osinstall.mpkg is not iCpu free so i couldnt install it that way and Xcode doesnt work so i dont have flat package editor to change it :/. And when i tried to boot from the DVD my system hangs on logon screen.

And can someone confirm that DVD images cannot be scanned for restore???

It looks like xpchelper quits and refuses to start causing some apps to just hang when starting ...

Looks like it works on my end BUT I have not restarted yet to confirm scififan68's finding of it causing a hang at login ...

I just restarted and there was no hang at login ... The annoying xpchelper crashes are still occurring though !
