Just torrent it. Write a ncie nfo saying what it does etc and include the 9.2 kernel if you can. Installing efi is a piece of cake so I don;t see why people shouldn't do it.

No booting problems at all. I don't use any boot flags at all. Maybe the cpu is making the difference. Perhaps your cpu is only SSE2.

Same motherboard here and everything went pretty smooth. Didn't have the 1 minute remaining issue or anything like that and I transferred my info from another partition and logged in straight away....

Get the boot menu up by pressing F2 or equivalent and then select your external drive. If all you get is a flashing underscore then try the wiki bootloader fix.
