Sounds like you missed installing the bootloader or it didn't install correctly for some reason. To fix download and install Chameleon (http://chameleon.osx86.hu/) :)

Apparently the AppleNForceATA.kext has some bugs that prevent it entering 64bit mode, which i'm guessing is causing the problem you're experiencing.

Whilst great at the time, I wouldn't use Zeph's distro now (the one riangeli suggested ^). I recommend you use LawlessPPC or Leo4All for AMD since they have much better driver support and fewer bugs.

You can boot using the install dvd's bootloader. Just leave it in the drive and don't press anything. Once you reach the desktop, download and run the chameleon pkg installer :)
