Thanks for the response! That saved me an expensive mistake!
Just out of curiosity, would this be possible with core duo and core 2 duo models? upgrade the 1.66 or the 1.83 model to the 2.5 or a...

Mac Mini CPU replace with Celeron?
A friend of Mine has a Mac Mini with the 1.5 GHz Core Solo CPU. It's too slow for him and he said he'd sell it to me disgustingly cheap.
I have a 2.5 GHz Dual Core Celeron e3300 CPU laying around...

Install SL ASRock Conroe945g-DVI
I chose the ASRock Conroe945g-DVI to be a budget hackintosh for my work computer. I chose it because all the hardware seems to be natively supported. Ethernet, and integrated GMA 950 Graphics work...

Native 10.6.3 64-bit MacBook?
I know this may be the wrong area to post this since my computer is a genuine Apple MacBook, but I figured this forum would be the most helpful due to the hacking nature of the project.
I have an...

Why?
Why is this a good hackintosh? This machine costs as much or more than a MacBook with similar specs.

Got it!
The Legacy Empire EFI did the trick! Snow Leopard is installed and working nicely. It does, however, boot native to 64-bit mode which seems problematic for my sound drivers. Not a big deal, as my...

64-Bit mode?
I am having the same issue on the same board. The version of PC EFI i am using makes SL install the 64-bit Kernel by default. My understanding is that all of the kexts and fixes on the forums only...

Revision 2 = Atheros LAN
You probably have the revision 2 of this board which does not use a realtek LAN chipset. It uses Atheros 8131, I believe. There does not seem to be a work around for this one. I have the same board...

Empire EFI not working
I downloaded Empire EFI (there were a few different versions) but I had no luck with any of them. They just won't mount my Snow Leopard Disk. I have verified that the disk works. I tried using the...

maybe the Celeron
I wonder what gives then? Obviously there is a hardware setup that Leopard likes and Snow Leopard dislikes. Could it be the Celeron (Conroe based) Processor? That's the only other hardware factor I...

Agreed with lflashl
Elaborating on what lflashl stated... Rev 2 of this board uses an Atheros ar8131 chipset that is unsupported by OS X as far as I can tell. The Rev 1 board used a Realtek Chipset that was supported...
