First off, a pc and a Mac have a different way of starting up, or booting. PC hardware with the same processor, chipsets (mobo, vid, sound, ether, etc), will still need to be tweaked using the stuff...

My Quad Works
I just took a quick look and I did not see what install method or version you are using, but I used iPCOSx86 10.5.6 Uni Final and my quad core works great. Threads was one of my best stats on xbench....

No sound??
Noob here. I have the QuickCam Pro 9000 and I use it with Photobooth all the time. As for no sound, the QC is my only sound input device and is working at all times.
